Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a file downloaded to your computer, smartphone, or tablet when you access certain web pages. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about a user’s or their device’s browsing habits, and, depending on the information they contain, can be used to recognize the user.

Our calculators (savings goal, emergency fund, loan payment, 50/30/20 budget, retirement projection) and the self-assessment quiz don’t use local storage or any other mechanism to save the data you enter: each calculation is performed only in that moment, directly in your browser, and leaves no trace on your device.

2. What types of cookies does this website use?

Docentia uses the following cookies:

  • Technical cookies (strictly necessary): These are essential for the basic functioning of the website, such as remembering the language you’ve selected for browsing the site.
  • Analytics cookies: We use Google Analytics, which installs its own cookies to quantify the number of users and statistically analyze how the website is used (most visited pages, time spent, etc.).
  • Advertising cookies: We use Google AdSense to display advertising on the Website. AdSense may install cookies in your browser to show relevant ads based on your browsing history.

3. Managing and disabling cookies

You can allow, block, or delete cookies installed on your device by configuring your browser’s settings:

  • Chrome: Settings -> Privacy and security -> Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Options -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Preferences -> Privacy -> Block All Cookies.

Blocking technical cookies may cause some minor site functions (such as remembering the selected language) to stop working properly. This does not, under any circumstances, affect the functioning of Docentia’s calculators, which don’t depend on cookies to work.
