About Docentia
Our mission
Welcome to Docentia, an educational project born in Valencia (Spain) with a clear goal: to teach you how to manage your money step by step, with clear, no-nonsense financial math. The name comes from “docencia” (teaching): we’re not just another finance blog, we’re a space built to teach. We know personal finance can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve created a place where key concepts and simple calculation tools come together so you truly understand how your money works.
What you’ll find on Docentia
We’re not just a blog of tips: on Docentia you’ll find six free tools, designed to be simple and useful from the very first second:
- Savings Goal Calculator: how much you need to save each month to reach a goal, with compound interest.
- Emergency Fund Calculator: how many months of expenses you should have saved for the unexpected.
- Loan Payment Calculator: principal, interest, and term for any loan or mortgage.
- 50/30/20 Budget Calculator: how to split your paycheck between needs, wants, and savings.
- Retirement Projection Calculator: how much your savings could grow over 20 or 30 years.
- Self-Assessment Quiz: test what you know about basic financial literacy.
You’ll also find articles on the blog that explain, with concrete number examples, how savings, loans, personal budgeting, and long-term retirement planning work.
No sign-up, no data stored
None of our tools require you to create an account, whether by email or through third-party services. You enter your numbers, get your result, and that’s it: the calculation happens in your own browser and is never saved or sent anywhere.
We teach, we don’t advise
It’s important that this is clear: Docentia doesn’t give personalized financial advice or recommend specific products. Our content and calculators explain universal financial math — the same everywhere in the world — so you understand the mechanisms and can make your own decisions with more confidence.
Our commitment to transparency
We believe understanding your finances should be accessible to everyone. That’s why using Docentia’s tools is completely free and never requires a credit card or paid subscription.
How do we keep the project running? Through responsible advertising, in a transparent way. We don’t use affiliate links or recommend financial products in exchange for a commission: the advertising you see on the site is the only thing funding it.
Get started whenever you’re ready
Managing your money is an ongoing learning process, and we hope Docentia helps you along the way with less friction. Explore the calculators, take a look at the blog, and start understanding your finances step by step.
